Wild Child

The Heights Theater

Wild Child is unyielding. The Austin-based group has been bringing its contagious blend of indie-pop and contagious melodies to the international music industry for the past seven years, generating viral successes and encircling a diverse and devoted fan following. But when the group began work on its fourth studio album earlier this year, they discovered they were up against a mountain of work: after half a decade of development, the group had evolved beyond its conventional composition and recording routine.

The band's lead vocalist and violinist, Kelsey Wilson, states, "We had too many ideas for how we wanted to make this record. She sighs. So we thought, "Why not simply do them all?"

The band saw that this presented a unique opportunity to create an album that bands hardly ever get right: to adopt a novel, multispectral approach to composition and production that went beyond merely attempting to engineer success. The band created a list of their favorite artists who were also excellent producers, selecting those they believed would provide a fresh perspective to certain tunes. Then, Wild Child set out to chase their album from studio to studio throughout the globe, never turning down an idea.

Throwback Thursday Karaoke Contest
Throwback Thursday Karaoke Contest

Christian's Tailgate Bar & Grill

A 501(c)3 organization, the Houston Higher Education Student Coalition, assists young adults in locating resources to enroll in college, trade school, or the workforce. We provide seminars on life skills development, leadership training, and job and college fairs. We always seek community assistance since we aim to provide our services without charge to young adults.

Come to our first "Throwback Thursday Karaoke Contest" community fundraiser. Want to have a shot at winning $250 and becoming the karaoke champion? Purchase a $20 performance ticket. The amount of money provided by the artist on behalf of the organization determines the contest winner. The singers will perform in the order they arrive, and at the conclusion of the show, a winner will be announced and given a prize.

The event is open to spectators without a ticket. The alternatives for tickets are shown below. Please consider your options before sending an RSVP or making an event purchase.

ENTERPRISE RULES

A "Performer Ticket" must be purchased by each competitor. You will be instructed to use Square to sign up for a song in the performer ticket confirmation email.
125 of the greatest hits have been pre-selected by our coalition's team. Only one copy of each song may be chosen. A song that is "out of stock" means that another artist has already chosen it. Email requests for songs that aren't included can be sent to houhesc@gmail.com. The participant loses their chance to compete if a song is not chosen by December 27.
To enter and register by December 26th, all participants must be at least 18 years old.
To receive their cash prize on the day of the contest, winners must have access to Cash App.

Houston is a strong contender for the title of "best place to live in Texas" since it is thought to have one of the highest standards for quality of life and one of the friendliest surroundings of any city in Texas. Given Houston's prominence in the fields of space exploration, the energy industry, and the offer of a low cost of living, it should not be surprising that it has become a top location for those wishing to relocate.

The city of Houston has gained notoriety for its contributions to the disciplines of science and space since "Houston" was the first word pronounced from the moon. Additionally, the Johnson Space Center, run by NASA, is situated there. Houston, the fourth-largest city in the United States, is home to a wide variety of industries in addition to its reputation as a global city.

Houston has the second-lowest cost of living among the most populous metro areas in the United States, per the C2ER Cost of Living Index for the third quarter of 2018. Houston's cost of living is 8.2% less than the national average, and it is 35.5 percent less than the national average among the most populous metropolitan areas.
